What exactly is the shipping option Canada Post Letter?
When you choose "Canada Post Letter" shipping we post the item to you via regular letter mail - just the same way that you post a letter in the postbox. The advantage of letters is that they are great value - shipping is free on and letter within Canada or the US. There are some disadvantages though...
Letters are not insured, and have no tracking number
A letter delivery is not insured, and there is no way to track a letter once it has been shipped. And although Canada Post rarely loses or damages a letter it can happen, and delays are also always possible, so unfortunately we can offer no guarantee for the risk of delay, loss or damage if you choose letter shipping.
And our customers do sometimes report letters that we ship from Vancouver to the eastern provinces taking 2 weeks or more, so we do not recommend that you chose letter delivery for any urgent orders.
Letter shipping is only available for small products, and sometimes the product must be shipped without the packaging
There are strict limits on the size of Canada Post letters, so this shipping option is only available for small and lightweight items. And some of these small products are still packed in bulky retail packaging and are too large to be sent as a letter. So if you choose letter shipping for these products then we'll remove the product from it's box or plastic retail packaging and pack it in a clean, transparent poly bag. This is then small enough to be sent in a padded envelope as a low-cost letter delivery. Of course we make sure that the product is carefully packed in a protective envelope before shipping it. And of course re-packing the product does not affect the warranty or your 30-day money back guarantee in any way. It simply means that you will receive the products you order in neutral packaging instead of the normal glossy retail packaging.
